LONDON (ICIS news)--The union representing German train driver’s, GDL, on Monday criticised the railway's latest offer but said there would be no further strike action until after talks on 3 December.

GDL in a statement described Deutsche Bahn’s most recent offer, made on 21 November, as a “sham” package.

Further negotiations are expected to be held on 3 December and if no agreement can be reached further strike action may follow.

Earlier this month German rail workers went on a 62-hour strike which affected around 700 freight trains across the country, bringing freight transport almost to a standstill in eastern Germany.

Both Deutsche Bahn and the GDL have rejected the offer of an independent moderator, the statement added.
