TORONTO (ICIS news)--Siam Cement has reached a technology licensing deal with Dow Chemical for a second joint-venture $315m (€211m) linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) project in Thailand, the petrochemicals major said on Wednesday.
The 350,000 tonne/year plant was expected to start up in the second half of 2010, with feedstock to be supplied by a second naphtha cracker in Map Ta Phut, also a joint venture between the two, Siam said.
It would focus on LLDPE C6 and C8 grades, which were used mainly in the packaging industry, Siam added.
