MOSCOW (ICIS news)--Russian petrochemicals major Sibur Holding will invest roubles (Rb) 134.4bn ($5.5bn) in building new production facilities and expanding existing ones over the next five years, it said on Friday.
The company's investment programme included the construction of new propylene and polypropylene (PP) facilities in Tobolsk, a new polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plant in Nizhny Novgorod, a new polystyrene (PS) facility in Sibur-Khimprom, as well as the expansion of its existing plastics facilities in Tomskneftekhim, Sibur added.
The company would also invest in the second phase of construction at its Yuzhno-Balyk gas processing plant, as well as new gas processing facilities near Vyngapur and Yuzhno-Priobskoye gas deposits in western
The company's strategy was focused on enhancing hyrocarbon processing and the production of value-added polymers, Sibur CEO Alexander Dyukov said.
In 2007 alone, Sibur planned to invest Rb16.9bn and aimed to produce 14.7m tonnes of petrochemicals product by year-end.
