Ticona buys two formalin plants from Perstorp

LONDON (ICIS news)--Formaldehyde technology plant manufacturer Perstorp Formox has sold two formalin plants to German polymer producer Ticona, the company said on Wednesday.

 

“The reason why Ticona is now purchasing two more plants is that their production facilities in Kelsterbach must be moved to allow for the expansion of the Frankfurt airport,” the Swedish-based company said in statement.

 

No financial details were disclosed.

 

“Their existing fomalin production will be replaced by the two new plants,” it added.

 

The sale of these two plants means in 2007 Perstorp Formox has sold formalin plants with a capacity of over 1m tonnes this year, the company said adding it had been a record year.

 

Perstorp Formox, a subsidiary of Perstorp, focuses on designing, developing and supplying complete plants.
