LONDON (ICIS news)--Two European bis phenol-A (BPA) manufacturers have resumed full production after receiving sufficient phenol feedstock supplies, following the end of recent logistical difficulties, said sellers on Thursday.
One BPA producer in eastern Europe said it had received the outstanding phenol supplies over the weekend of 1-2 December after the recent German rail strike which enabled them to run at full operating rates again.
Another European manufacturer said it had previously limited its BPA production in November due to upstream phenol constraints, but after some planned maintenance work, the plant had now re-started at full rates after securing sufficient phenol volumes.
BPA production remained limited, according to one manufacturer, who said that it was still difficult to source sufficient phenol.
BPA producers include Hexion, Bayer, GE and Spolchemie.
