LONDON (ICIS news)--Arkema’s 90,000 tonne/year methyl methacrylate (MMA) plant at ?xml:namespace>

The plant had been closed down on 12 November for a week’s maintenance, but had seen ongoing problems since then and only returned to full operation on 10 December, according to the source.
Supply had been affected, but maintained generally.
“We have been struggling, but we haven’t had to put anyone on allocation,” the source said.
Other seller sources had commented in recent weeks that demand for extra volumes had increased as a result of ongoing issues at the plant.
The general availability of material, however, was thought to be higher during November and December, as European production rose and demand fell.
