SHANGHAI (ICIS news)--Jiujiang Petrochemical is expected to produce on-spec aromatics next week from its plant located in Jiujiang, Jiangxi province, a company source said on Friday.

The Sinopec subsidiary produces 25,000 tonnes/year of benzene, 30,000 tonnes/year of toluene, and 30,000 tonnes/year of mixed xylenes in Jiangxi.

The aromatics unit was restarted last Friday after a one-month turnaround in November, the source said, adding that the unit had been producing off-grades since then.

The restart and shut-down of the unit had little impact on China’s spot market due to limited output, market sources said.
