LONDON (ICIS news)--PCS Sales has announced a further price hike to US customers of $80/short ton (€55.20/short ton) on all grades of MOP (muriate of potash) effective 1 March 2008, a spokesman at the Canadia fertilizer producer said Tuesday.

This rise will take standard MOP prices to $382/short ton FOB (free on board) Saskatchewan and soluble, granular and white granular MOP to $392/short ton, $387/short ton and $392/short ton respectively.

The announcement follows another made in early November which will see prices rise $50/short ton on 1 January.

A $30/short ton price rise also came into effect on 1 December.

The price rises come amid strong demand and tight global potash supply.

PCS Sales is the dedicated sales department for Potash Corp of Saskatchewan.
