HOUSTON (ICIS news)--Deutsche Bank said on Wednesday that Chemtura’s decision to pursue a range of strategic alternatives would likely mean the sale of the company.

“We believe Chemtura's announcement that it is considering strategic alternatives will result in a sale of the company,” the bank said in a research advisory distributed to the press.

On Tuesday, Chemtura’s board of directors authorised the company to consider the sale of the company among other alternatives such as select business divestitures, acquisitions and capital restructuring.

The bank Merrill Lynch has been given the mandate to advise the company on its strategic alternatives, Chemtura said.
