LME: Asia PP futures move higher

LONDON (ICIS news)--Plastics futures prices from the London Metal Exchange are given in the table below.

 

Asia PP prices moved up slightly on Wednesday but most official prices were unchanged. Further details and comparisons with price data published earlier are available directly from the Exchange. The LME site requires free user log-in.

Eastern Petrochemical’s (Sharq) has delayed the restart one of its two linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) lines in Saudi Arabia, a source close to the company said on Wednesday.

 

It was unclear at the time of writing when the unit, which was delayed following a turnaround, would resume operations, a source close to the company said. The delay was likely to intensify supply constraints in the Middle East and Asia, according to traders and end users.

 

INEOS Polyolefins intends to raise polypropylene (PP) prices by €50/tonne ($72/tonne) from 1 January to offset an expected rise in first quarter propylene, a company source said on Wednesday.

 

Basell began construction at its second polypropylene (PP) compounding facility in China at Guangzhou Nansha province, to meet the growing demand in country, the company said on Wednesday.
