LONDON (ICIS news)--The Ethiopian Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MoARD) has issued a tender for 75,000 tonnes of diammonium phosphate (DAP) fertilizer, trader sources confirmed on Thursday.

The MoARD tender will close on 10 January.

MoARD also closed a tender on 4 December for 75,000 tonnes of DAP, awarding fertilizer trader company Ameropa with two Russian cargoes of 25,000 tonnes at $689/tonne (€482/tonne) CFR (cost, insurance and freight) and $699/tonne CFR for January shipment.

Ethiopia imported around 180,000 tonnes of DAP fertilizer in 2006, the majority from Lithuania and Russia.

Ethiopian farmers use DAP to grow cereal crops.
