Nan Ya plans BPA turnarounds in May, Sept 08

SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Nan Ya Plastics, Asia’s largest bisphenol A (BPA) spot seller, is planning to shut down its 90,000 tonne/year No 1 BPA line at Mailiao, Taiwan, in May 2008 for a 15-day maintenance turnaround, a company official said on Friday.

The BPA major is planning another 30-day turnaround at its 100,000 tonne/year No 3 unit in September, also located at Mailiao, the source added.

Other BPA majors in Asia include Kumho P&B, LG Chem, Nippon Steel and Mitsubishi Chemicals.
