Akzo Nobel restructures ahead of ICI deal

LONDON (ICIS news)--Akzo Nobel will restructure into three business units in preparation for completing the purchase of UK coatings and starch company ICI on January 2, it said on Friday.

 

The three business areas will be Decorative Paints, Performance Coatings and Specialty Chemicals, the company said in a statement.

 

ICI’s specialty polymer and regional and industrial activities will become part of specialty chemicals; its packaging coatings operation will be under the performance coatings and its decorative activities will be part of the decorative paints unit.
