SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Japan’s Mitsui Chemicals Polyurethanes has been running its toluene diisocyanate (TDI) plant in Ohmuta at 100% capacity from Friday, a company source said.
The plant was restarted on 25 December after being shut for over four weeks due to mechanical problems, the source said on Monday.
Other major TDI producers in the region include BASF Urethane Korea and Korea Fine Chemical in South Korea, and BASF Shanghai in China.
TDI is a raw material for making polyurethane foams used in mattress production.
