LONDON (ICIS news)--Akzo Nobel has appointed two teams to manage the integration of ICI and its transition into three new business units, the Dutch coatings major said on Monday.
Akzo Nobel completed the acquisition of UK-based ICI on 2 January and has restructured into three business segments – decorative paints, performance coatings and specialty chemicals.
Tony Britt has been appointed to head the integration of decorative paints, while Piet Schalkwijk oversees the integration project office, created to combine the companies at corporate level, the firm said.
“The transformation of the company will continue during 2008,” said Akzo Nobel CEO Hans Wijers in his New Year’s message. “Now that we are one company, we are bigger, stronger and more focused.”
