Philippines' Petron awards MX tender at $910/tonne

SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Philippines-based isomer grade xylene producer Petron has awarded a sell tender for a 5,000 tonne mixed xylenes (MX) cargo, industry sources said on Tuesday.

The second-half January loading cargo was sold at $910/tonne FOB (free on board) Bataan late on Monday, they said.

A source close to the company confirmed the sale but refused to reveal the awarded price.

The awarded value was below prices heard on Tuesday in the FOB Korea market.

Selling indications for February cargoes were heard at $970/tonne FOB Korea countered by buying indications at $950/tonne FOB Korea, according to global chemical market intelligence service ICIS pricing.
