HOUSTON (ICIS news)--Canadian fertilizer producer Agrium plans to withdraw and refile its application to acquire UAP Holding for $2.65bn (€1.80bn) a move that would give US regulators more time to review the deal, the company said on Monday.

Such deals are reviewed by the US Federal Trade Commission under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act.

Agrium initially filed its notification of the proposed acquisition under the act on 10 December, the company said.
