US MAP fertilizer exports stable in 2007

LONDON (ICIS news)--US exports of monammonium phosphate (MAP) fertilizer in 2007 were virtually unchanged from the previous year, data from the Fertilizer Institute (TFI) revealed on Tuesday.

 

US MAP exports for 2007 reached 2.17m short tons, up 0.1% from 2006 levels. Canada was the largest recipient with 737,118 short tons (34%) followed by Brazil with 339,889 short tons (16%), Australia with 329,449 short tons (15%) and Argentina with 246,077 short tons (11%). 

 

MAP exports reached 242,938 short tons in December. This was up 41% on the same month of 2006. The main destination was Argentina (121,736 short tons or 50%), followed by Canada (74,194 short tons or 31%). Argentina received 29,762 short tons (12%).
