LONDON (ICIS news)--First January paraxylene (PX) contracts have been settled at €793/tonne ($1,184/tonne), up €21/tonne on December on high feedstock and energy costs, buyer and seller sources confirmed on Tuesday.

This was in line with a settlement made earlier in the day by another producer, the seller source said.

“It was not me that settled first,” the source said. “But I have followed.”

The buyer source said that it had made the settlement, done on a FD (free delivered) NWE (northwest Europe), basis with two producers.
