MOSCOW (ICIS news)--Belarus fertilizer producer Grodno Azot is to invest Belarus rubels (Brb) 213bn ($99m/€68m) this year, Brb40bn more than in 2007, mostly on raising caprolactam capacity to 140,000 tonnes/year by early 2009, it said in a statement on Friday.
The state-owned Grodno Azot currently has capacities to produce 650,000 tonnes/year of nitrogen fertilizers, 110,000 tonnes/year of caprolactam and 55,000 tonnes/year of methanol.
In July 2007, Grodno Azot cut its investment programme till 2010 by $54m due to higher natural gas prices.
Its investment programme included 10 projects to raise the plant's fertilizer, caprolactam and methanol capacities, as well as projects to produce biofuel.
($1 = Brb2,157/€1 = Brb3,155)
