Bayer promotes ‘eco-friendly’ coating in China

SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Bayer MaterialScience (BMS) is teaming up with Changzhou Coating Research Institute to promote the waterborne polyurethane coating industry in China, the German speciality chemicals company said on Wednesday.

 

The co-operation aimed to increase public awareness of the “eco-friendly” coating material through forums and conferences,

it added.

 

The coating benefited the environment by reducing the emission of toxic volatile organic compounds, BMS said.

 

BMS’s coatings, adhesives and sealants business unit was prepared to meet the anticipated rise in regional demand by ramping up its production capacities at its integrated unit in Shanghai, it added.

 

The waterborne coating is being used at the Chinese Olympic National Aquatic Centre, Olympics National Stadium and Shanghai’s Lupu Bridge.
