MUMBAI (ICIS news)--China's Gushan Environmental Energy Limited has restarted production at its Beijing biodiesel plant after adding 50,000 tonnes/year to its capacity there, it said.
"We believe this milestone is a testament to our ability to efficiently expand our production lines and execute our growth strategy," said Gushan chairman Jianqiu Yu late on Thursday.
The company plans to further expand the plant's capacity to100,000 tonnes/year by the fourth quarter of 2008, Gushan said.
The company was also planning to set up a 50,000 tonne/year biodiesel plant in Shanghai in the second quarter of 2008 and two other facilities of 30,000 tonne/year nameplate capacity at Chongqing and Hunan by the fourth quarter, it added.
Gushan has three other facilities in Sichuan, Hebei and Fujian, and along with the Beijing unit, the firm has a combined biodisel capacity of 240,000 tonne/year.
Gushan expanded its Sichuan plant's production capacity to 20,000 tonnes/year in November, ICIS news reported earlier.
