LONDON (ICIS news)--Abu Dhabi’s Ruwais Fertilizer Industries (Fertil) has shut down its urea unit due to technical issues, a company source at the United Arab Emirates (UAE) producer said on Tuesday.
The 1,800 tonne/day prilled urea plant based in Ruwais, Abu Dhabi, was taken down yesterday, with the closure expected to last around eight days.
The exact nature of the problems was not disclosed.
The company source said it was covered for the period so the outage would not create too many supply issues, except possibly some minor delays.
Fertile has cargoes of urea to deliver to Bangladesh, Iran and India over the coming month.
