LONDON (ICIS news)--Iran’s Agricultural Support Services Co (ASSC) has awarded one cargo of triple superphosphate (TSP) fertilizer to Tunisia's Groupe Chimique Tunisien (GCT) at a plus-$70/tonne hike on GCT’s last known TSP export business, producers said on Thursday,

Other offers were still outstanding for the tender that closed on 13 January.

Tunisian producer Groupe Chimique Tunisien (GCT) was awarded the lot at €465/tonne ($694/tonne) FOB (free on board), with the price set at an increase for GCT due to tight supply of phosphate fertilizers globally and strong demand.

Under the tender, ASSC asked Lebanon Chemicals, which had offered at €475/tonne FOB, to match this price, but Lebanon Chemicals said it was still negotiating, sources at the company confirmed.

Iran was still to award under its TSP tender that closed on 16 January and will close another tender for 120,000 tonnes of TSP on 1 March.

TSP is used in Iran to produce a variety of crops including wheat.
