LONDON (ICIS news)--Linde has won a contract with BASF to build a hydrogen plant at its Ludwigshafen site in western Germany, the industrial gases group said on Monday.

Scheduled to start up in mid-September 2009, Linde would provide the project’s basic and detail engineering, materials procurement, installation and commissioning.

Linde said the purified hydrogen will be fed into the BASF internal pipeline network, increasing Ludwigshafen’s hydrogen capacity by 50,000 cubic metres/hour.
