SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Japan Energy will shut its 250,000 tonne/year base oils production unit in Mizushima, western Japan, for about 8 days in the second week of March, said a company source said late on Tuesday.
The unit, which produces mostly Group I base oils, will be shut for routine maintenance, added the source.
The company does not expect to have spot cargoes to offer during March due to the shutdown.
There are two refineries in Mizushima – Japan Energy and Nippon Oil. Both have downstream baseoils production.
Nippon Oil has a production capacity of 200,000 kilolitres/year of Group I base oils at Mizushima.
