SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Taiwan’s Chinese Petroleum Corp (CPC) has issued tenders for the delivery of more than 100,000 tonnes of naphtha, said trading sources on Wednesday.

The purchases were timed to take advantage of the weakening of the premiums, seen at around +$3.50/tonne on a delivered basis in February, compared with +$9.00/tonne in January on the back of ample supplies from India and Europe, they added.

It sought 30,000 tonnes of heavy naphtha for delivery to Kaohsiung in April, with the tender closing on Friday.

CPC is also seeking to buy 75,000 tonnes of full-range naphtha for delivery during the first half of April, with the tender closing on Thursday.

March requirements have mostly been covered by Korean end-users.
