Jam adds to Assaluyeh petchem complexSINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Iran's Jam Petrochemical has achieved on-spec production at its 1.32m tonne/year Assaluyeh cracker and expects to start up its derivative units by the end of April “provided there is no technical problem”, a source close to the company said on Monday.

The cracker is now operating at 50% capacity, a second source said, after starting up at the end of December

The start-up of the cracker complex had been delayed several times.

Jam’s derivative plants include a 300,000 tonne/year high density polyethylene (HDPE) plant, which is ready and waiting to be fed ethylene from the cracker.

A 300,000 tonne/year polypropylene (PP) plant and a 300,000 tonne/year HDPE/linear low density PE (LLDPE) swing plant are in the final stages of mechanical completion.

Jam is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Iran’s National Petrochemical Co.
