LME Plastics: Upward pressure for UK PE buyers

19 February 2008 11:22  [Source: ICIS news]

LONDON (ICIS news)--Global and regional plastics futures prices from the London Metal Exchange are given in the table below.

UK polyethylene (PE) buyers are facing further upward pricing pressure this quarter despite signs of slower activity in mainland Europe as sellers attempt to bring them in line with their continental counterparts.

Asian propylene prices are expected to fall further after slipping by at least $40/tonne last week, due to a sudden influx of Taiwanese material, traders and end-users said on Tuesday.
