KUALA LUMPUR (ICIS news)--Japanese producer Mitsui Chemicals has announced hikes of at least $100/tonne (€67/tonne) in the phenol and acetone Asian contract price (ACP) for March from the previous month, the company said in a statement released late on Tuesday.
The price increases were nominated due to tightening supply in the region on a spate of plant turnarounds scheduled in the second quarter, the company said.
Mitsui, Asia’s largest phenol-acetone producer, pegged its phenol March ACP at $1,650/tonne CFR (cost and freight)
The company also proposed a $120/tonne increase for acetone prices in March to $1,230/tonne CFR China, inclusive of 11.9% anti-dumping duties.
