TORONTO (ICIS news)--DuPont has appointed Thomas Connelly to head its agriculture and nutrition business and to lead the integration of biotechnology across the company's business segments, the US chemicals major said on Wednesday.

J Erik Fyrwald, group vice president of DuPont's agriculture and nutrition business, resigned from the company to head US water chemicals maker Nalco.

DuPont also appointed James Borel vice president, leading the company's production agriculture businesses, and Torkel Rhenman CEO of Solae, its soy protein joint venture with Bunge, it said.

The appointments come as DuPont is working to integrate biology with its expertise in chemistry to deliver its biotechnology pipeline to the market, said DuPont CEO Charles Holliday.
