LONDON (ICIS news)--Final confirmation was heard on Friday of the settlement of March benzene contracts at €787/tonne, up €50/tonne from a number of buy and sell-side sources.
The contract was set at a dollar price of $1,190/tonne FOB (free on board) NWE (northwest Europe) and then converted into euros at an official exchange rate of €1.5121 the dollar.
Players attributed the increase to recent high spot values and a general sentiment of tightness within the market.
