DUBAI (ICIS-News)--Saudi Arabia’s Advanced Polypropylene Co (APPC) has started test production at its new polypropylene plant (PP), the company said on Monday.

The plant would employ Novolen technology to produce 450,000 tonnes/year of PP and would use propylene from APPC’s first plant as feedstock, said the company’s executive president Eng Ali Ben Abderrazak.

The company started commercial production at its 455,000 tonne/year propylene plant last week.

APPC is 53% owned by Saudi Arabian and foreign investors, with foreign investment accounting for close to 15%. The remaining 47% is owned by the state-run Saudi Industrial Development Fund.
