HOUSTON (ICIS news)—Dow Chemical’s Louisiana olefins cracker continues to be down for repairs since it experienced an equipment failure last month, but will restart in March, the US chemical company said in a statement on Monday.

“Site personnel are taking the proper actions to repair the damaged safety flare associated with the cracker, and bring the plant back safely to normal operations,” the company said.

The cracker, St Charles Olefins II, located in Hahnville, Louisiana failed on February 9. Ethylene production will start on March 15, it added.
