SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--
The OCU, which has a production capacity of 250,000 tonnes/year of propylene, has been shut since 19 February.
Operation rates at the OCU had been hovering at 50-60% since it came on stream in June 2007.
“We will be looking into implementing more changes, such as equipment changes, to solve these problems during the turnaround this time,” the source in Mandarin said.
The OCU was last shut for a 15-day turnaround in early January to fix persistent technical problems. However, operations continued to be unstable after the turnaround.
