TORONTO (ICIS news)--Fluor has won a $100m (€66m) contract for a nitrogen injection facility and a power plant to be built at a liquefied natural gas (LNG) re-gasification terminal in Baja California, Mexico, the US petrochemicals engineering firm said on Wednesday.
The contract was awarded to Fluor’s Mexican affiliate ICA Fluor by Energia Costa Azul, a subsidiary of Sempra LNG.
The nitrogen plant will produce up to 18m standard cubic feet/day of nitrogen.
Nitrogen availability would allow the Mexican LNG terminal greater flexibility and a wider range of gas imports, Fluor said.
Fluor’s contract included engineering, procurement, construction (EPC) and start-up of the nitrogen injection plant with an estimated 22-month schedule, it said.
