SHANGHAI (ICIS news)--South China acetone prices fell yuan (CNY) 50/tonne ($7/tonne) from last Friday on ample domestic supply and reduced operating rates at downstream plants, traders and producers said on Friday.
Prices were assessed at CNY9,350/tonne ex-tank south China, traders said adding that north China prices had risen by CNY100-150/tonne to CNY9,250-9,300/tonne ex-tank due to increased orders from some large petrochemical companies.
“Downstream factories producing bisphenol-A (BPA) and methyl methacrylate (MMA) consumed feedstock acetone more slowly with lower operation rates compared to last year,” traders added
