NYMEX crude rises $2/bbl to new record high

LONDON (ICIS news)--NYMEX light sweet crude futures gained almost $2/bbl on Monday to take the front month April contract to a new record high of $107/bbl, a rebound after having lost a dollar on profit-taking just after midday.

 

By 14:30 GMT, April NYMEX crude had hit a high of $107/bbl, a gain of $1.85/bbl from Friday’s close of $105.15/bbl, before easing back to around $106.60/bbl.

 

At the same time, April Brent crude on London’s ICE Futures was trading around $102.90/bbl, having hit a high of $102.95/bbl, a gain of $0.57/bbl from the previous close.
