US perc exports off 24% in Jan from year earlier

HOUSTON (ICIS news)--US exports of perchloroethylene (perc) fell to 1,279 tonnes in January, down 24% from the same month last year, the US International Trade Commission (USITC) said on Tuesday.

 

January’s perc exports also were 38% less than the 2,049 tonnes sold to foreign buyers in December.

 

Prices for perc were assessed at $992-1,124/tonne on Tuesday, according to global chemical market intelligence service ICIS pricing.

 

Perc prices have been stable since January.

 

US perc suppliers include Dow Chemical, Ineos, PPG and Occidental Chemical.
