SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Taekwang Industrial is on schedule to restart its propane dehydrogenation (PDH) plant on Thursday, ending its three-week turnaround, a company source said on Wednesday.
The PDH unit, located in Ulsan, South Korea has a 250,000 tonne/year propylene capacity.
"We are well-balanced in terms of supply and have no need to purchase spot propylene cargoes from the market," he added.
Propylene supply in northeast Asia was ample, with Japanese and Taiwanese producers facing full inventories while buying interest for cargoes was also weak with some downstream acrylonitrile (ACN) end-users headed for turnarounds in April.
