TORONTO (ICIS news)--Clariant’s Chinese joint-venture Hangzhou Baihe Clariant will build a world-scale plant for quinacridone specialty organic pigments, the Swiss specialty chemicals maker said on Wednesday.

The expansion, at the venture’s existing production site in Hang Zhou City, Zhejiang province, would supply Chinese and global customers, Clariant said without disclosing investment sums or capacity details.

Quinacridone organic pigments were used in many high-performance coatings - including architectural, automotive and industrial applications as well as plastics and printing applications, it said.
