SINGAPORE (ICIS News)--Nippon Oil, the Japanese refining major, is ready to restart its residual fluid catalytic cracker (RFCC) in Sendai by mid-March after fixing technical problems, said a company official on Thursday.

The RFCC unit in Sendai was shut down in mid-February.

"All problems in the unit have been solved and the unit is ready for start-up," the company official said, adding that the company has yet to decide on the exact date.

The company’s sales have not been affected by the shutdown, he said.

The RFCC unit in Sendai produces 35,000 bbl/day of gasoline and 100,000 tonnes/year of propylene.

Nippon Oil has seven refineries in the country, producing up to 242,000 bbl/day of gasoline.
