LONDON (ICIS news)--UK petrochemical company INEOS Nitriles is to buy BASF’s Seal Sands site at Teesside, UK, the German chemicals company said on Thursday.
“The acquisition is conditional on approval by the relevant competition authorities,” BASF said in a statement.
No financial details were disclosed.
Hexamethylene diamine (HMD) remained a key element for BASF and as a result this plant as well as the adiponitrile (ADN) plant at the Teesside site had been excluded from the transaction, the company added.
The site has production facilities for acrylonitrile, ADN and HMD, as well as by-products.
