SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Asahi Kasei Chemicals, the Japanese acrylonitrile (ACN) major, has raised its April contract price in Asia by $20/tonne from the previous month on rising ammonia costs and tight supply, a company source said on Thursday.
The April Far East Contract Price nomination was at $2,020/tonne on a CFR (cost and freight) Asia basis, up from $2,000/tonne a month ago, he added.
However, a wide price gap has separated buyers and sellers in the April contract negotiations.
Bids from end-users in the derivative acrylic fibre (AF) industry were about $80-100/tonne lower.
