SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Ellba Eastern, the joint venture between majors Shell Eastern Petroleum and BASF Southeast Asia, has restored its Singapore-based propylene oxide/styrene monomer (PO/SM) unit to full production, market sources said on Thursday.

The company has however declined to comment.

The facility, which was closed in early February due to mechanical problems, can produce around 250,000 tonnes/year of PO and 550,000 tonnes/year of SM.

On Friday, PO values in the key China market were at yuan (CNY)13,600-13,900/tonne ($1,926-1,969/tonne) on a delivered basis, up CNY100-300/tonne from a week earlier, on the strength of higher feedstock propylene costs, according to global chemical market intelligence service ICIS pricing.
