SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Nan Ya Plastics, Asia’s largest bisphenol A (BPA) spot seller, will shut its 130,000 tonne/year No 4 production line for eight days starting 24 March, a company official said on Thursday.
"The shutdown next Monday is to do with some insurance checks on our machinery," he said in Mandarin, adding that this would not affect supply to contract customers, and would also help to keep inventory pressures at bay.
Other BPA majors in Asia include Kumho P&B Chemicals, LG Chem, Nippon Steel and Mitsubishi Chemical.
