HOUSTON (ICIS news)--US olefins producer Chevron Phillips Chemical has shut down its Sweeny 22 ethylene unit in Texas to repair a damaged compressor associated with the cracker, the company said on Tuesday.
The 296,000 tonne/year unit will be offline until 31 March, Chevron Phillips said in a filing with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).
A Chevron Phillips spokesperson declined to comment on the filing.
