LONDON (ICIS news)--Dutch melamine producer DSM’s smaller unit at its site in Geleen, the Netherlands, has been shut down due to technical issues but its restart was anticipated over the weekend, a company source said on Wednesday.
The 30,000 tonne/year melamine plant had not been producing at full rates for some time, said the source, adding that it was the same fault that had caused the plant to shut down in January.
There had been no impact on customer deliveries, said the company.
“We know the reason, we will have to replace the faulty device,” said the source.
DSM’s other 120,000 tonne/year unit at the site was running normally.
