SHANGHAI (ICIS news)--Yangzi Petrochemical, a Sinopec subsidiary, has shut half of its 8m tonne/year refinery in Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu province, for a 40-day turnaround, company sources said on Friday.

However, its two crackers at the same site were still running normally, they added.

The refinery will not have to provide feedstock for Yangzi’s aromatics unit which was also undergoing a turnaround.

Yangzi operates two crackers with a total nameplate capacity of 650,000 tonnes/year but it can produce about 800,000 tonnes ethylene each year.
