SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Paraxylene (PX) major ExxonMobil has raised its Asia contract price (ACP) for April by $90 to settle at $1,260/tonne, in line with the earlier settlement by Idemitsu Kosan this week, a trader and customer of ExxonMobil confirmed on Friday.

The settlement, which took place on Friday afternoon, was on a CFR (cost and freight) Asia basis.

Other suppliers and buyers were expected to discuss the March ACP settlement during the coming 2008 International Petrochemical Conference in San Antonio, US which will last from 30 March to 1 April, a Chinese purified terephthalic acid (PTA) producer said.

PX spot prices in Asia were assessed at $1,310-1,320/tonne CFR Taiwan/China based on discussions heard between traders, according to global chemical market intelligence service ICIS pricing.
